I like to think that I keep a pretty healthy diet. I haven't eaten meat or poultry in 20 years and I try to consume only natural and organic foods. I do however love my sushi! I also enjoy traveling out of the country where I'm often eating foods that i don't know exactly what's in them or where they came from....
I have done several cleanses to get rid of the parasites that have attached themselves to my GI tract and decided to fly home with me. I was excited to hear from my colon therapist that there are simple, everyday foods that will help get rid of parasites.
So, here they are with a link to some info on each which I found in Naturalpath's extensive library from Healthnotes.......
Cranberries-
They are rich in orgainc acids which kill parasites by breaking down their protein structure and stimulating the release of parasitic wastes. Cranberry Info Page
Pumpkin Seeds-
Each 1/2 cup of pumpkin seed kernels contains 8.4mg of zinc. This mineral is known to strengthen the intestinal lining and is toxic to parasites. Pumpkin Info Page
Garlic-
Allicin- which is a natural sulfur compound found in garlic will start killing GI tract invaders within 2 hours of eating it. Studies at Israel's Tel Aviv University have also shown that 2 cloves of garlic per day can cut infection levels by 50% or more within five days. Garlic Info Page
Citrus-
Using fiber during a parasite cleanse will help sweep the eggs out of the body before they are able to colonize. Pectin is is also known to improve digestion by easing bloating. Info Page on Citrus Flavonoids
Carrots
Carotenoids which are found in carrots and cause them to be orange in color boost the immune system and are known to quickly repair damage to the intestinal tract. Info Page on Carotenoids
