Jocelyn Olivier

Overview

Jocelyn Olivier has dedicated 33 years to the development and refinement of specific forms of bodywork known as Conscious BodyWork® and NeuroMuscular Reprogramming® (NMR). She founded Alive & Well! Institute of Conscious BodyWork® in 1987, the Association for Humanistic Psychology (AHP) Somatics and Wellness Community in 1990, and the Healus Center for neuromuscular reprogramming and rehabilitation in 2006. Ms. Olivier is currently the director of the Healus Center in Corte Madera, California.

Practice

At the Healus Center, the focus is on weaving Conscious BodyWork,
NeuroMuscular Reprogramming and brain function facilitation (both hands-on and through the use of neurofeedback) to restore the information systems governing coordinated movement and a highly functioning brain. The center offers: * Free Neuromuscular Coordination assessments
  • Comprehensive evaluations by a multi-disciplinary team
  • NeuroMuscular Reprogramming for joint and muscle pain
  • Conscious BodyWork massage for stress reduction and enhanced brain function.
  • "Brain Mapping" QEEG assessment to establish which areas are malfunctioning
  • Neurafeedback sessions to reprogram the brain through brain exercises and reflecting the brain to itself
  • A large referral network for services we do not provide
By integrating massage with muscle testing, structural balancing and emotional-energetic resolution, Ms. Olivier has created a highly effective approach to the resolution of physical structural problems, even those that have not responded previously to therapy. Her new form of Conscious BodyWork, NMR, is a product of her years of studying neuromuscular re-education, educational kinesiology, Native American and Hawaiian Shamanism, and Chinese physical therapy (called Tui Na).

Expertise

Ms. Olivier's specialty is neuromuscular problem-solving by coordinating brain and body function. This includes the following practices:

  • Injury rehabilitation, including emotional components of shock and trauma
  • Reducing muscle and joint pain and weakness
  • Mild to moderate head injury and stroke recovery
  • Performance enhancement for athletes

Philosophy

Living fully alive & well in our bodies is our goal. Many events in our lives undo the integrity of that fundamental design. We are living, intelligent systems, constantly adapting to new stimuli. When given new information and support, our bodies will reorganize and self-correct.

At the Healus Center, the focus is on putting individuals in charge of their own bodies. The Center specializes in collaborative, hands-on treatments to address complex problems through several systems at once. Reorganizing the body contributes to enhanced cognitive function and enhanced brain function improves body responsiveness. Once brain and body are working together, they train together for optimal function.

Passion

Every day Jocelyn Olivier witnesses the miracle of change that can be wrought in the human body, sometimes in unbelievably short periods of time, and her clients' stories are an inspiration to her. Clients that have been searching for solutions for years sometimes find them within an hour with the right integration of techniques that speak to what their bodies need. The human body is very resourceful and adaptable and, given the right information, it can reorganize itself efficiently and heal completely.
