Melanie Haiken is a freelance writer, editor, and website project manager based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Prior to launching her freelance career, Melanie was Executive Editor at the Industry Standard, Executive Editor at BabyCenter, Managing Editor of San Francisco magazine and Health Editor at Parenting magazine. She has managed large-scale content projects for BabyCenter.com, Kaiser Permanente, and Consumer Health Interactive, which produces the award-winning Blue Cross websites MyLifePath.com and AhealthyMe.com. She has also contributed to WebMD.com and many other health and wellness-related Websites.
Melanie writes on a wide variety of topics including health, nutrition, business, and family-related issues. She contributes regularly to a number of national magazines including Health, Real Simple, Yoga Journal, and Business 2.0. Melanie has a particular interest in wellness and alternative health and was formerly a contributing editor to Alternative Medicine magazine. She has two daughters and lives in San Rafael, California.
