JUICING & METABOLISM?

By Regina | Sep. 3, 2008 | 0 Comments|post a comment
Hi everyone! This is a question not an article and since everybody here is so enthusiastic about juicing I’m sure someone will come with a good answer. HOW DOES JUICING CAN AFECT METABOLISM? Hear is the thing: I’ve lost some weight in the past months (about 9 pounds) but I’m struggling with the last 6 pounds because I tend to loose them during the week and then on the weekend when I’m not very disciplined I gain them again… This has been going on for 2 months now! Then this infomercial came on my TV “7 day jump start diet”, it sounds appealing to be able to detox your body in 7 days as well as loose some weight! And the timing is perfect too, next week I’m going to get a mouth surgery and won’t be able to eat a lot of solid food for around 5 days. So I bought the program; read the book and all this questions came to my mind. Is it safe? Is it healthy? Won’t it ruin my metabolism and make me gain all the weight back and even more? The program consist on 5 juices a day (a variety of vegetables and fruits) & a lot of water. My concern is that it does not include ANY protein or fiber during the 7 days. No starches or sugar, but a lot of carbs from the fruit. Won’t this affect my body? How would it react when I introduce all this foods back in to my diet? Because I’m not planning to juice for ever! Also, is it ok to juice wile recovering from the surgery? It is not a major one actually it is pretty simple but I’ll still be taking some medicines. Please send me your comments. I would really appreciate them! Thanks!
