pluginamerica.com check out ths website of information and activists to help the united states move toward cleaner modes of individual transport. for more, check out the mysterioumentary: "who killed the electirc car?" from "imdb.com" With gasoline prices approaching $4/gallon, fossil fuel shortages, unrest in oil producing regions around the globe and mainstream consumer adoption and adoption of the hybrid electric car (more than 140,000 Prius' sold this year), this story couldn't be more relevant or important. The foremost goal in making this movie is to educate and enlighten audiences with the story of this car, its place in history and in the larger story of our car culture and how it enables our continuing addiction to foreign oil. This is an important film with an important message that not only calls to task the officials who squelched the Zero Emission Vehicle mandate, but all of the other accomplices, government, the car companies, Big Oil, even Eco-darling Hydrogen as well as consumers, who turned their backs on the car and embrace embracing instead the SUV. Our documentary investigates the death and resurrection of the electric car, as well as the role of renewable energy and sustainable living in our country's future; issues which affect everyone from progressive liberals to the neo-conservative right. Written by Richard D. Titus from "pluginamerica.com" The Movie This acclaimed exposé chronicles the life and mysterious death of the GM EV1. A whodunnit about cars, the people who love them, the companies that build them and fuel them up, the governments that regulate them, and the fight for our future. The film has screened at this year's Sundance, San Francisco International, Tribeca, Seattle, and Los Angeles Film Festivals. Interviews include actors Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson, Alexandra Paul, Peter Horton, Phyllis Diller, Collette Divine, and J. Karen Thomas. Others include automakers, political leaders from the right and left, writers, activists, engineers, inventors, and everyday people who are wondering what happened to the electric car. "Who Killed The Electric Car" opened in theaters in Los Angeles and New York on June 28, 2006.

where is the electricity generated

Great movie...I saw it over the summer!! I always worry about where electricity is generated. If my electricty is generated in a coal plant...am I essentially driving a coal powered car? Sounds very Victorian...and not good for the environment.
