When I was six I created what I believed to be my life’s masterpiece. It started as a mere paper mache globe with blue paper for the oceans and green for the land. After gluing tan bark from the school playground to make mountains, glitter sunshine, and cotton ball clouds, I beamed with pride at the product of my creativity. I felt inspired; this was my first real Earth Day! Though the environment’s inspiration and influence on my life manifests differently now, I am always thankful for that special day that celebrates what connects us all, the Earth.
