Drops in a bucket? Well they add up. Are you doing everything you can to save water? Here's some tips:
1. Educate your kids on how important it is to save water and show them how they can help.
2. Wash your dishes in a sink or basin of water, instead of washing them under a running tap in an unplugged sink.
3. Turn off the tap while you brush your teeth, save or soap your hands
4. Flush your toilet only after several uses.
5. Install a low-flush toilet or put a brick in the tank of your high-flush toilet to reduce the water need to fill the tank.
6. Turn off the shower while you shampoo your hair and soap up and keep your showers short.
7. Seep your sidewalk or deck instead of spraying it down with a hose.
8. Use your dirty dishwater and any other "brown water" you accumulate to water your plants use natural dish-washing detergent and other cleaning products).
9. Use rain barrels to collect rainwater for watering your plants.
10. Consider alternative landscaping to lawns that need watering; plant drought-resistent native plants.
11. If you wash your car, do it on the grass so water isn't wasted.
12. Avoid leaving a water faucet or hose runnng; use a shut-off nozzle on the end of all hoses.
