Fertility and Consciousness; Partners in Co-creation?˜

By consciousconception | Jun. 8, 2007 | 4 Comments|post a comment

Fertility rates are on the decline, this is true. Martin O'Connell, chief of the fertility statistics branch of the Census Bureau, said the changes in the last nine years, though significant, were rather small when compared with earlier decades. In 1960, he said, the rate was about 120 births for every 1,000 women of childbearing age; in 1970, it was about 90. Thus, he said, ''The fertility rate now is about half what it was in the late 1950's and early 60's.'' There are many environmental factors contributing to why, including pesticides in our foods, chemicals and pollutants in the air, wireless radiation, and the growing number of women choosing to have children at a later stage in their lives. Stress, however, a clear link to the mind/body connection, may very well be the most overlooked contributor to infertility.

After having strived and worked hard to fulfill their callings in the workforce, women in their late thirties and throughout their forties find themselves ready to embrace motherhood with great anticipation as well as great fear. They are acutely aware that the biological clock may slow the process or stop ticking altogether. This added stress increases infertility as it sends chemical imbalances throughout the body, and thank goodness there is much research out there indicating the link to stress and infertility. Medical doctors contribute in their ability to assist the body, but recently more and more awareness is emerging about the mind/spirit connection and how it directly affects the body’s innate ability to heal.

While the pressure to create (and then keep healthy) a baby increases, what kind of focus is placed on the machine making the baby? If the machine is stressed and not functioning at its optimal life force, what is the quality of life force available to make a baby? What is imbalanced at the mind/spirit level directly affects imbalances at the cellular/DNA level, whether it strives to heal disease or create a life. Conscious Conception literally presents a paradigm shift in how we view conception and fertility. By shifting consciousness FIRST, it shifts the cellular vibration in the body and consequently, enhances the chance for fertility success. Not only does it serve the child waiting to come through, but the mother greatly benefits. The planet benefits as a shift in perception around the family unit occurs. All beings benefit.

Conscious Conception is a natural health/wellness alternative that helps shift awareness and relieve the stress of the delicate fertility process. It assists in bringing the body back to a balanced state, accessed through the emotional/spiritual pathways. Natural and non-invasive, the work is a gentle combination of spiritual and subtle energy healing and old-fashioned talk therapy, simply “...because many of my clients just need to be heard. The gentle reminders on how to take care of themselves brings clients back to present time, improving quality of life which in turn raises the energetic vibration in the body and enhances healthy function. Sometimes it helps to have a coach reminding them of what is important and what IS working,” says Rev. Elisabeth Manning, founder of Conscious Conception, a division of her fledgeling company, Angelic Human Potential. AHP is a consulting service to increase consciousness and integrity to achieve any desired result. “Too often hushed, this delicate topic needs a voice. The spirit needs a voice. The children coming through need a voice. Mostly what I do is hold space to allow. Once everyone feels safe, then the work can begin.” There are many scientific explanations to support this work, for example, Carolyn Myss in Anatomy of the Spirit, Dr. Masuro Emoto in Hidden Messages in Water, and Bruce Lipton, in his book Biology of Belief. If thoughts are energy and thoughts can affect the cellular structure of water, and our bodies are 85% water, what do you think our thoughts are doing to our bodies?

In its workshops, Conscious Conception connects women with other mothers-to-be in a nurturing and safe environment. It honors the sacredness of motherhood by consciously "calling in" the spirit of the child, allowing fears and doubts to dissolve as they come to know the essence of this new little being in their lives. It incorporates the principles now widely recognized in the movie “The Secret,” namely the Laws of Attraction and the power of intention. It empowers mothers-to-be to understand how thoughts and feelings are powerful co-creators of our reality, and how to build that muscle. It addresses beliefs about our bodies and motherhood, lifestyle choices, environmental toxins, and nutrition and herbs. It embraces a holistic approach to fertility that complements the medical model with or without IVF, and it works in conjunction with Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Naturopathic, Homeopathic, and massage therapies to enhance fertility success. (It is, however, recommended to try it prior to attempting IVF). Mothers become happier, thriving and well-balanced mothers, which in turn creates happier, thriving and well-balanced children. This kind of work is an inside job and it is best to begin well before the idea of children is conceived.

Conscious Conception is thorough internal work calling us to awaken, and may not be for everyone. It empowers the mother to take responsibility for, and heal, aspects of her life that have not been dealt with. This may include abortion or miscarriage, and unforgiven family-of-origin issues, unhealthy thought patterns or relationships. It fosters certainty, peace and calm; dissolving fears or pictures related to beliefs about motherhood (Can I do this? Is this for me? How can I maximize my experience?). For those not yet pregnant, it can enhance fertility. For those already pregnant, it deepens the bonding and sacred connection to the child throughout the pregnancy and beyond.

Mothers come away feeling more solid, clear and grounded in the truth of their new role, and able to give herself fully to her child. They are more present and aware of their relationship to other things in their life, recognizing these things are not separate. A new sense of confidence and knowing emerges, redefining former limiting beliefs and resulting in shifts in awareness and ways of being. As the light dissolves cobwebs of the past and returns a client to a more well-balanced state, and as she comes into herself fully and present to her own sacred feminine power, her environment naturally fosters the potential to bring through a very amazing being. The child is born into its world already feeling connected/bonded and trusting of its safe and nurturing environment, established long before birth and designed to continue throughout childhood. A sense of the sacred is rekindled. There is no telling what potential can emerge in a child from such a well-nurtured and conscious mother and what head start the child is given to do great work on the planet.

Motherhood is that journey calling us to return to the sacred mystery, and to foster great human potential, by first accessing that potential in ourselves. Conscious Conception is the open door and the invitation to enter into that potential. Here is the opportunity to honor a child in the way it was intended. Why take any chances?

helpful post...

So many couples are facing infertility issues and the immediate reaction is to turn towards highly invasive drugs and procedures (e.g. IVF)...looking first at stress and the mind-body connection with infertility is a logical first (and continuous step)...thanks for introducing this to Naturalpath. I will pass this on to a few couples I know.

Thanks to you

David, I really appreciate your email and feedback. IVF is so unnecessary for a lot of couples; 30% of them don't even need it. I just think this piece addressing the consciousness of conception is so obvious that it has been overlooked as a major contirbutor to fertility, until now. I am honored to be a voice for the unborn children and to help bring awareness back into the importance of the family unit. Thanks again--I heard about you from my friend Joanne Hernon (mindfusion)--she spoke so highly I had to explore it and I am SO glad I did. You guys are doing some fantastic work at Naturalpath, and I am glad to be a part. Blessings to you, Elisabeth
