My first attempt at a cooking show! I like to cook and thought I would demonstrate that cooking a healthy meal can be fast, easy and economical. I have watched a lot of traditional cooking shows that demonstrate how to create tasty food, but unfortunately the fare is usually pretty unhealthy because of very high saturated fat content, sugar, etc.
Of course, home cooked meals are usually healthier than eating out, and anything made from scratch is better than processed food, so traditional cooking shows are very beneficial if they encourage people to prepare food at home in my opinion.
On the other hand, I think there is a misconception that healthy food does not taste good and is hard to prepare, and I wanted to address these myths. One caveat is that I use some canned goods here, and it is better to avoid these if possible, but due to how busy people are these days, I think this is a concession that is worthwhile.
My dish is a vegetarian stew that is extremely high in anti-oxidants and chemo-preventative ingredients (those that block cancer). It takes about 35 minutes to prepare from start to finish and all the ingredients cost just $20 (even at a health food store). I hope to encourage other people to post their own shows like this.
