Eco fashion that doesn't look like a potato sack?

Eco-friendly clothing is hard to come by in today's "mass consumption, cheap production" world; it's expensive for companies to ditch the easily accessible, low cost materials that are bad for the environment. Although many mainstream companies probably won't completely cross over any time soon, I did find a few lines with eco-friendly values... for the rest of us.

Here are a few of the top eco-friendly clothing companies I found:

Undesigned by Carol Young
Carol Young makes urban women's wear from all organic materials, even the bamboo denim used in the jeans!

Stewart + Brown
The entire line is made from recycled, organic and green fabrics

Linda Loudermilk
This Los Angeles based clothing company makes couture dresses for Hollywood's A-list (and anyone else who can afford it). She uses exotic sustainable materials like sasawashi, sea cell and soya, and her factories are in the U.S.

Stella McCartney
Although her line isn't totally eco-friendly, Stella McCartney's vegetarianism has led her to stray from producing any fur or leather products.

Wildlife Works
This Bay Area company makes a wide range of clothing out of organic cotton and hemp - products range from skirts to yoga wear. Although their mills are in developing nations, all workers are paid fair wages and the company donates  a percentage of its profits to conservation efforts.

Edun
Thirty percent of Edun's jeans and tees are made from organics. Its manufacturing plants are in developing countries, but the company does follow fair labor practices.
