I think it was a blend of adrenaline and embarassment that forced me to get up, start running again, and not stop until I got home.
I washed out the abrasion on my arm about 45 minutes later, only a few hours after that my inner upper arm started getting sore; I figured this was due to bruising from the initial impact. The soreness only worsened through the night.
The next morning, I took off the bandage to give it some air, and the soreness continued. It was a few hours later, about 24 hours after the tumble, that my father (a doctor) pointed out the red line (the soreness on my inner upper arm) that now ran 8 inches up my arm. Yup, it was most certainly infected and spreading quickly.
I am now tackling the infection with the traditional allopathic means, as I always have. But this got me thinking, are there any/what are the natural means of treating an infection? My immune system is quite strong, why would this abrasion get so infected so quickly when others have not?
