Starting 08 Fresh with a Cleanse

By Justin | Jan. 8, 2008 | 5 Comments|post a comment

I've done a master cleanse diet before and felt it was an incredible experience. I wanted to start this year with another master cleanse and share my experience with others who are doing the same.

This is pretty informal so there aren't really any rules about what you say, although I'd encourage everyone to be respectful of each other and just be honest about what they are thinking and feeling.

I've always done the cleanse with another person and know that doing so makes it sooo much easier. My cleanse partner bailed on me this year so I wanted to try to do this virtually and see if we could get a group thing going...

When I went to a trip with

When I went to a trip with the Royal Caribbean I heard something about this new thing, but I didn't give it any importance. Now, as I read your post I can see that is pretty interesting and helpful.

15 years of master cleanser experience

My wife and I have been using the master cleanser for well over 15 years - remember this system was introduced by a naturopath in the early 1900's - almost 100years ago!!!********* Here are a few of our observations - *******Preparing to go on the cleanse - for about a week before you begin - eat lighter - carnivores - lay off the red meat - substitute fish or chicken. *******Lay off the heavy desserts - less sugar - no soda drinks!!! *******Beginning ******Sip the salt water internal bath mixture like a soup - if you try the bottoms up approach it can be difficult. ******Hot weather - the great part about a summer cleanse - lower the cayenne - you will be cool as a cucumber while everyone around is sweating bullets - even in 80f temps ******Cold weather - increase the cayenne if you feel chilly - I have been on the cleanse for 25 days - in temps that dipped down to below 0 f (-24c) and was not cold. *****During****** ******If you feel hungry, light headed, etc. - you are not drinking enough of the lemonade. - chug a glass. ******BULK - mix only one day's mix at a time - it tends to ferment by the 2nd day - fresh is tastiest. You can juice the lemons and keep the lemon juice separate from the maple syrup - it will keep for more than one day - about 3-4 days max . An easy way to travel or work - make a 500 ml (2 cups or 1 pint) bottle of concentrate - 250 ml lemon juice, 250 ml maple syrup, cayenne as needed (1/4 - 3/4 teaspoon) - this will make 6- 8 500 ml bottles (3 - 4 L) *******Drink At least 10 ounces of lemonade each hour - and yes - pee breaks are more frequent - why do you think they call it "flushing" *******Weight loss - will occur if you do exercises - moderate exercise - like walking - is very good. *******If you get into a gym or do aerobic exercises - running, cycling, etc. you will see more lbs drop off. *******Easing off the cleanse - this is the most improtant part - after about 4 days - all your organs are resting and rebuilding - and I notice that I do not have morning breath - still taste the toothpaste from the night before. - *******Easing off with either tomato juice (non-salted - watch those sodium levels) or the older touted orange juice will ease your digestive system back into gear over 2 days. *******After the cleanse - eat lighter - smaller portions - more veggies - enjoy the results - *******Also - taking acidophilus to rebuild your GI bacteria levels will help .. we reduced our dairy intake to almost nill - huge bonus - no more mucousy lymph system - ***Enjoy!!!!!! ***boynorth*****

Hard to do

I tried doing a Master Cleanse before and found it extremely difficult to complete. Does anyone have any suggestions for supplementing the cleanse with any other foods, such as hamburgers? lol

Bulk preparation...

So it's a bit strange to be commenting on my own post but I guess that's how it works on these forums?? I've always found that it helps to make the lemonade recipe in batches so you have it all there...Below is the basic recipe to make 60 oz of "cleansing lemonade", sufficient for 6 10 oz glasses. 60 oz water per day (or 10 oz per glass) 12 tablespoons Organic Grade B Maple Syrup (or 2 tbsp. per glass) 12 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (or 2 tbsp. per glass) a little over half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper (or 1/10 tsp. per glass) or to taste ... The hardest part is squeezing enough lemons to get enough juice. I've found you need at least 10 lemons to get enough juice. Also be careful on the cayenne pepper as it's easy to add too much which can be unbearable...

First day

Hi everyone, yesterday was my first day on the lemonade diet (I'm doing my posting in bulk today)... So far, so good. I think i put too much Grade B Maple Syrup in my drink this time, as the taste is very strong. Will alter the next drink for better taste. I am doing the lemonade diet not for weight loss, but to try to purge myself of the excesses of the last few months, particularly the last few weeks around the holidays...I'm usually mostly vegetarian but I started to break that for a family Thanksgiving get together and then it snowballed into more and more meat consumption. My digestive track seems really off and I want to try and get my digestive system back to normal.. For the past 3 months my digestive system has been feeling off. Last time I had a similar problem with my digestive system I did the cleanse and it really helped! So that is the main reason I am doing this, and of course I wouldn't mind getting a little weight off too, maybe 5 pounds!! If anyone has any tips or wants to share perspectives, I would greatly appreciate the help. The hardest part for me is quitting caffeine which I did 3 days ago to help with the caffeine headaches...
