My shoulder issues started about eight months ago when I strained my right shoulder moving some boxes. It felt kind of inflamed and sore, but as the weeks went by I became concerned since it was not healing. Finally I started going to chiropractor and applied kinesthesiologist. She tried a variety of things, including some dietary changes, but most of her treatments were centered around hooking me up to some kind of electronic machine that administered some type of shock to my shoulder. The treatment itself was kind of unpleasant since it the electric machine was painful. I saw some very modest results but, after about 6 treatments, I was not seeing results and decided to try something else.
My next try was with a conventional western MD. I happen like this doctor quite a bit and think he has a lot of integrity. However, I was a bit surprised by his approach. He first suggested I get an Xray to start things off - apparently, even though this was a soft tissue injury, the Xray would reveal some kind of information that would be useful. When the Xray came back negative, his only solution was to give me a shot of cortisone! It felt a little better that day but then quickly returned to its habitual sore and inflamed state of affairs.
Tomorrow - the acupuncturist
